Latvia: Beer tax in Latvia up by 6.5%
Beer tax in Latvia increased by 6.5% as of the beginning of 2006 year. Latvijas Balzams, Latvias first alcohol producer, stated that the excise tax hike will lead to substantial price rises.
The liquor tax rose by 14.5% from LVL 550 (EUR 782.60) to LVL 630 per litre of pure alcohol.
